GP Mortar Coloured is a coloured general purpose mortar for laying bricks and blocks. The colour range available can be used to match or contrast with most bricks and are suitable for modern and traditional buildings.

Application Instructions (for block laying)
  • Add 25 kg of K Mix mortar to 4-5 litres of clean water
  • Mix thoroughly for at least 5 minutes to break down the additives to give a slump free, easily worked material
  • K Mix GP mortar and GP mortar coloured are suitable for application with using traditional bricklaying tools, including a hawk and trowel and machine application
  • Do not apply this product at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C
  • The product should not be applied to frozen or thawing substrates
  • In cold weather, or if frost is forecast, work should stop in time to allow the material to set sufficiently to prevent frost damage
  • During hot weather it is recommended that work follows around the building, to be continually working in the shade

K Mix Damp Resistant Plaster is a renovation plaster used to control salt migration and dampness in walls.

Application Instructions (for plastering externally)

PREPARATION

  • Remove all plaster from internal walls to at least 300mm above the line of damp, in accordance to BS 6576
  • Repair or install a remedial damp proof course, where necessary
  • Ensure that the surface is clean, free from surface salts and any loose or friable material
  • K Mix Damp Resistant Plaster is not recommended for use on plasterboard or bituminous coatings

APPLICATION

  • Add a 23kg bag of K Mix Damp Resistant Plaster to 4.5 – 5 litres of clean water
  • Mix thoroughly for at least 10 minutes to break down the additives to give an easily worked plaster
  • Apply a first pass of approx. 6mm and allow to stiffen slightly, typically after a few hours in normal conditions
  • Apply second pass approx. 14mm
  • Rule to line and level
  • Allow to cure for a minimum of 24 hours prior to applying a standard plaster skim coat
  • Allow to cure for at least 14 days prior to painting with a non-vinyl based emulsion paint
  • K Mix Damp Resistant Plaster can also be machine applied
  • K Mix materials should only be used when the temperature is between 5°C and 35°C
  • K Mix materials must not be applied to frozen or thawing supports. If the coating is to be applied in adverse conditions, it is essential to protect the working area before and after application

K Mix Stone Cladding Adhesive

K Mix Stone Cladding Adhesive is a cement based, polymer modified adhesive for fixing stone cladding & tiling to various substrates.

  • For external use
  • Only requires the addition of water
  • Can be applied using traditional bricklaying tools
  • Easy to use. Ideal for fast builds

Application Instructions
  • Add 25 kg of K Mix Stone Cladding Adhesive to 8 litres of water
  • Mix thoroughly for at least 10 minutes to break down the additives to give a slump free, easily worked adhesive
  • K Mix Stone Cladding Adhesive can be applied using traditional bricklaying tools, including a hawk and trowel
  • Apply the adhesive to the substrate to create a bed of 3-6mm thickness
  • Bed tiles firmly into adhesive using a slight twisting action to ensure good contact
  • A solid bed of adhesive should be used for external applications and areas which may become wet during use, ensuring that there are no voids in the final bed of adhesive
  • Do not apply this product at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C
  • The product should not be applied to frozen or thawing substrates
  • In cold weather, or if frost is forecast, work should stop in time to allow the material to set sufficiently to prevent frost damage
