New Hygrothermal Chamber for R&D Department

The company have demonstrated its commitment to research and development by investing in a Hygrothermal Chamber to carry out testing of their renders and external wall insulation systems.

This equipment is effectively an accelerated weathering chamber where completed rendered walls and insulation systems are exposed to a series of heating, wetting, cooling and freeze/thaw cycles.

Research Manager, Dr. Ross Savage explains “Each year a building is exposed to numerous cycles of heating, freezing, thawing, wetting and drying. With this specialised facility it now allows Kilwaughter Minerals R&D department to confirm the long-term durability of new and recently developed products and systems.”
